~ New Song ~
Introduction ~ This
series will aid us in understanding some of the many dimensions of possessing new
life through the work of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament (or New
Covenant). The theme for this series is from the book of Lamentations where we
find a great summary verse about our gracious and faithful God.
New
Mercies
~ “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail
not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord
is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him!’” (Lamentations
3:22-24).
Scripture ~ “And I
heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of
loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang
as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living
creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred
and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. These are the ones
who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who
follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being
firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for
they are without fault before the throne of God” (Revelation 14:2-5).
Comment ~ What a
glorious day it will be when we worship God in our heavenly home!
