~ 3 Key Postures of
Servants ~
To remain
successful (in God’s eyes) every servant of God needs to regularly assume three
distinct postures resulting in readiness for service.
Sitting Before The Lord (rest) ~ “Then King David [a
“man after God’s own heart”] went in and sat
before the Lord” (2 Samuel 7:18).
Standing Before The Lord (readiness) ~ “And Elijah the
Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, ‘As the Lord God
of Israel lives, before whom I stand,
there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word’” (1 Kings 17:1).
Speaking For The Lord (testimony) ~ “Again, do you
think that we excuse ourselves to
you? We
speak before God in Christ. But we
do all things, beloved, for your edification” (2 Corinthians 12:19). “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to
give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).
