~ 3 Key Possessions of
Servants ~
There are
three things which the effective servant of God will grasp tightly.
Hold Tightly To Your Faith With A
Good Conscience ~ “Let us hold fast the
profession of our faith without wavering (for he is faithful that promised)” (Hebrews 10:23). “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made
concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience,
which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck” (1 Timothy 1:18-19).
Hold Tightly To The Faithful Word ~ “For a bishop must be blameless,
as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine,
not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good,
sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding
fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound
doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict” (Titus 1:7-9).
Hold Tightly To The Word of Life ~ “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you
may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst
of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the
world, holding fast the word of life,
so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or
labored in vain” (Philippians 2:14-16).
Summary
~ These three possessions which
we are to grasp firmly all have to do with correct doctrine.
