Fact Check, 23

~ God’s Word Isn’t ~

Introduction  ~  Satan is the “Father of lies” (John 8:44).  From the beginning—in the Garden of Eden—Satan has tried to get humans to doubt, question, and deny the truth of God’s Word.  In essence Satan whispered in Eve’s ear, “Did God really say that?” (Genesis 3:1).  This is a serious matter because God will not always strive with an individual.  “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever” (Romans 1:24-25).

Satan Says  ~  The Word of God is not genuine and real.

God’s Answer  ~  “Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:18-19).
