~ Jesus Christ Is The One We Pray
Through ~
Passage
~ Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I
say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and
greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever
you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the
Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:12-15).
Examples ~ “But
he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God,
and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, ‘Look! I see the heavens
opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!’ Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped
their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city
and stoned him. And the witnesses laid
down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on
God and saying, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my
spirit.’ Then he knelt down and
cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lord, do not charge them with this sin.’ And when he had said this, he fell asleep” (Acts
7:55-60).
“Paul, called
to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our
brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified
in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all
who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs
and ours” (1 Corinthians 1:1-2).
Significance
~ According to Scripture: (1) There is only One who paid the penalty
for our sin. (2) There is only One now
seated on the right hand of The Father (position of power). (3) And there is only One who is the Mediator
between God and man.
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most
important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
