Jesus Christ Was Witnessed by Himself ~
Passage ~ “Jesus
answered and said to them, ‘Even if I
bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and
where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am
going. You judge according to the flesh;
I judge no one. And yet if I do judge,
My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent
Me. It is also written in your law that
the testimony of two men is true. I am One who bears witness of Myself,
and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me’” (John 8:14-18).
Significance ~ “If we receive the witness of men, the
witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has
testified of His Son. He who believes in
the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made
Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His
Son. And this is the testimony: that God
has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not
have the Son of God does not have life. These
things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that
you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe
in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:9-13).
Comment ~ “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most
important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
