~ The Romans Road, 1of7 ~

Salvation is not a Reward for the Righteous.

It is an available Gift for those who understand their Guilt!

Introduction  ~  The “Romans Road” is a generic term for the Gospel of Jesus Christ found (often presented in sequential form) through the Book of Romans.  It has been around for decades and exists in various forms—containing slightly different selections of verses from the Book of Romans.  In this series we look in this post at an overview of the Romans Road.  The following five posts will answer key questions raised by the Romans Road.  The last post in this series will deal with the personal significance of this series. 

We Are ALL Sinners  ~  “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.  They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.  …  For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10-12, 23).

God Loves ALL Of Us  ~  “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). 

We ALL Deserve Death  ~  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

God Offers Us ALL Forgiveness  ~  “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  …  For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’” (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

Salvation through Jesus Christ brings us into a relationship of peace with God.

We Can ALL Have Peace  ~  “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1-2).  “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).  “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
