The Christian’s Interaction With Christ ~
The CHRISTian life is all about Christ. Consider some
critically important Christian activities.
Walking
With Him ~ “Now behold, two of
them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven
miles
from Jerusalem. And they talked together
of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned,
that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.
(Luke 24:13-15). Walking
with Him provides revelation!
Talking
To Him ~ “Now it came to
pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James
and went up on the mountain to pray. As He prayed, the appearance of His face
was altered, and His robe became white and glistening. And behold, two men
talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah” (Luke
9:28-30). Talking with Him
provides fellowship!
Listening
To Him ~ “Now it happened as
they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha
welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at
Jesus’
feet and heard His word” (Luke
10:38-39). Listening to Him
provides instruction!
Abiding
(Living) With Him
~ “They
said to Him, ‘Rabbi’ (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), ‘where are
You staying?’ He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Come and see.’ They came and saw where
He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth
hour)” (John 1:38-39). Abiding
with Him provides joy and peace!
Praying
Through Him ~ “And when they had
prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were
all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness”
(Acts 4:31). Praying
in His name provides power!
Watching
For Him ~ Jesus said, “For as
in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know
until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son
of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other
left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other
left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:38-42). Watching for Him provides expectancy!
How are you doing?
Are your activities properly aligned with your Christian
calling?
