The Gift of God’s Son ~
God’s
Gifts Series ~ God
has given mankind many gifts. In this
series we will look at just a few of them.
There are so many aspects of God’s gifts which we regularly receive and
give little or no thought to—such as the air we breathe and the light which
enables us to see (and the capability to do both).
Scripture ~ “For
unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is
given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
“Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for
behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city
of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will
find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths,
lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, And on
earth peace, goodwill toward men!’” (Luke 2:10-14).
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did
not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not
with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32).
“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the
world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but
that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John
4:9-10).

“Thanks be to God for His
indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
In one sense God’s “gift” is singular but His gifts are many with many
facets
(read 9:8-15).
