Christian Conversion, 1of2

 

~ The Old Manner of Life ~

 

With true Christian conversion the individual’s complete life is affected.

 

The Former Manner of Life ~ “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  question 1:  How many banks does an individual have to rob to be a bank robber in the eyes of a judge?  question 2:  How many sins does an individual have to commit to be a sinner in the eyes of God the righteous Judge?

 

Was Corrupt and Deceitful ~ “Your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts” (Ephesians 4:22).  

 

Was Lawless and Self-Centered ~ “[God] delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) — then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority.  They are presumptuous, self-willed.  They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord” (2 Peter 2:7-11).
