Eternal, 1of3

~ 3-in-1 Eternal God ~

Prolog  ~  The Bible clearly teaches that all three members of the Triune God are eternal.

The Eternal Father  ~  “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27a).  “For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy” (Isaiah 57:15a).  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

The Eternal Son  ~  “In the beginning was the Word [Jesus Christ], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:1-5).  “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One [Jesus Christ] to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting” (Micah 5:2).

The Eternal Spirit  ~  “For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:13-14).  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:1-2).  “By His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.  Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him!  But the thunder of His power who can understand?” (Job 26:13-14).

Epilog  ~  It is clear from the passages quoted above that all members of the triune God were involved in creation.
