~ Jesus Christ Is an Equal Opportunity Savior ~
General Comment
~ When Jesus saw there was always an appropriate reaction and in each case
we can learn from the event.
Today’s Scripture
~ “Then
Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax
collector, and he was rich. And he
sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of
short stature. So he ran ahead and
climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that
way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, make
haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.’ So he made haste and came down, and received
Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they
all complained, saying, ‘He has gone to
be a guest with a man who is a sinner’” (Luke 19:1-7).
Application ~ “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Those who are well have
no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
I have not come to call the
righteous, but sinners, to repentance’” (Luke
5:31-32). Do you recognize that you are
a sinner? If so, then there is Good
News.
Jesus
also said, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved. He who believes in Him
is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he
has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light
has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil” (John 3:14-19).
