~ Jesus Christ Is Alive Today~
Passages
~ “Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8-9). “There were many priests, because they were
prevented by death from continuing. But
Jesus Christ, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable
priesthood. Therefore He is also able to
save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for
them” (Hebrews 7:23-25).
Significance
~ Jesus is the Creator. “He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. For by Him
all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and
invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All
things were created through Him and for Him. And He
is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church,
who is the beginning, the firstborn from
the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians
1:15-18).
Comment ~ Death could not hold Him. He rose from the dead and was seen following His resurrection many different times by many different people—once by 500 at once! “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep [died]. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time” (1 Corinthians 15:3-8).
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most
important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
