~ Water: In Christians ~
Introduction
~ Water—whether physical or
spiritual—is life-giving and life-sustaining.
In this series we are taking a brief look at water as a consistent theme
throughout all of The Holy Bible.
The Living Water Is Abundant
~ Jesus said, “I have come that
they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. ‘I am the Good
Shepherd’” (John 10:10-11).
“Jesus
answered and said to her, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but
whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the
water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up
into everlasting life’” (John 4:13-14).
“The thief
does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that
they may have it more abundantly. I am
the good shepherd. The good shepherd
gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:10-11).
Remember
~ Water is not only essential for life, but it
cleanses and purifies. The Word of God cleanses the individual Christian and
the Church of God. “Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her to make
her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word, in order to
present her to Himself as a radiant Church, without stain or wrinkle or any
other blemish, but holy and blameless”(Ephesians 5:25-27).
