~ Jesus Christ Is the Eternal Living
Savior ~
He Is The Living Stone On Which We
Build ~ “Coming to Him as to a
living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built
up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
‘Behold, I
lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him
will by no means be put to shame.’
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are
disobedient, ‘The stone which the builders rejected
has become
the chief cornerstone,’ and ‘a stone of stumbling
and a rock of
offense.’ They stumble, being
disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed” (1
Peter 2:4-8).
He Is The Living Bread On Which We
Feed ~ “Jesus therefore answered and said to them, ‘Do not murmur
among yourselves. No one can come to Me
unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last
day. It is written in the prophets, “And
they shall all be taught by God.” Therefore
everyone who has heard and learned from
the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has
seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes
in Me has everlasting life. I
am the bread of life. Your fathers
ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it
and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live
forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for
the life of the world’” (John 6:43-51).
He Is The Living Way By Which We Draw
Near ~ “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest
by the blood of Jesus, by a new and
living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His
flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with
pure water. Let us hold fast the
confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to
stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the
more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews
10:19-25).
He Is The Living Priest Through Whom
We Worship ~ “And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath (for
they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said
to Him: ‘The Lord has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever according
to the order of Melchizedek”’), by
so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant. Also there were many priests, because they
were prevented by death from continuing.
But He, because He continues
forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God
through Him, since He always lives to
make intercession for them. For such
a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate
from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily,
as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then
for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who
have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever. Now this is the main point of the things we
are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right
hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the
sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man” (Hebrews
7:20-8:2). “And every priest stands
ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never
take away sins. But this Man, after He
had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat
down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are
made His footstool. For by one offering
He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 10:11-14).
He Is The Living Hope For which We
Wait ~ “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away,
reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1
Peter 1:3-5).
