~ The Source of Grace ~
Key Scripture
~ “May the
God of all grace, who called us to
His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect,
establish, strengthen, and settle you.
To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter
5:10-11).
“By the one man’s offense
many died, much more the grace of God and
the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many”
(Romans 5:15b).
Comment ~ God
is the source of all grace. Grace is the
receiving of something good which you do not deserve. The mature Christian will live an
increasingly grace filled life as they are transformed into the image of Jesus
Christ. This includes all of our activities
including our conversation. “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the
time. Let your speech always be with grace [speaking more highly of the
subject than it deserves], seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought
to answer each one” (Colossians 4:5-6).
Contemplate This
~ “We
are [being] transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming
brighter and more beautiful as [the grace of] God enters our lives and we
become like Him” (2 Corinthians 3:18b, The
Message).
