~ The Result of God’s Grace ~
Key Scripture
~ “But
God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show
the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ
Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in
them” (Ephesians 2:4-10).
Comment ~ The result of grace accepted is salvation
which includes forgiveness of past sin, power
to grow in God’s grace, and eternal life with God. “So when the Jews
went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged
that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. Now when the congregation had broken up, many
of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to
them, persuaded them to continue in the
grace of God” (Acts 13:42-43).
Contemplate This
~ “We
are [being] transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming
brighter and more beautiful as [the grace of] God enters our lives and we
become like Him” (2 Corinthians 3:18b, The
Message).
