“Mr.
Russell has shown his best work, in the development of the concept of the
Church as a pearl of great price. Throughout
this study there is a development of analogical thought, where the latent
imagery of the pearl is made clear for the modern reader. His content is superior throughout. He has drawn on a natural science and
Biblical thought without violating either. I have learned a great deal about the concept of
a pearl and have appreciated more the concept of the Church as the Pearl of
Christ.” ~ Ronald B. Allen, Senior Professor of
Bible Exposition, Dallas Theological Seminary

you enjoy it, an online review would be appreciated.)

Introduction ~
Biblical prophecy is a lot like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The creators of each have provided a clear
picture of the end result. As the puzzle
is being put together, the completion is increasingly anticipated. However, the placement, sequence, and timing
of the remaining pieces is not as clear.
This series of posts would be better entitled Remaining Future Events; however, Second Coming (or Second Advent)
is the common terminology which tends to lump a wide range of future events
together.
The
Master’s Promise
~ “Behold, I am coming quickly,
and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work”
(Revelation 22:12).
The
Reckoning Day
~ “Therefore judge nothing before
the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things
of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God” (1
Corinthians 4:5).
The
Manifestation of Works
~ “Whatever you do, do it
heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will
receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what
he has done, and there is no partiality” (Colossians 3:23-25). “For we must all appear before the judgment
seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body,
according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
Motives
and Manner ~ “Judge nothing before the time, until the
Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and
reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then
each one’s praise will come from God” (1 Corinthians 4:5). “Also if anyone competes in athletics, he is
not crowned unless he competes according to the rules” (2 Timothy 2:5).
Reward
and Loss ~ “Each one’s work will become clear; for the
Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will
test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a
reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he
will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire” (1
Corinthians 3:13-15). “And many of those
who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some
to shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2).
Crowns
and Castaways
~ “Finally, there is laid up for
me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give
to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His
appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8). “And when
the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not
fade away” (1 Peter 5:4).
