3 “Always” of Ministry ~
Prolog ~ “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one
another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1
Peter 4:10).
In this post we look at: THREE
CONSTANTS FOR MEANINGFUL SERVICE.
Always
Praying (in the Spirit) ~ “But
take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing,
drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you
unexpectedly. For it will come as a
snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these
things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke
21:34-36).
“Therefore we also pray
always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and
fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,
that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him,
according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians
1:11-12).
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request
for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until
now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in
you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me
to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in
my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are
partakers with me of grace. For God is
my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ”
(Philippians 1:3-8).
Always
Rejoicing (in the Lord) ~ “We
give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. But in all things we commend ourselves as
ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in
stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in
fastings; by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy
Spirit, by sincere love, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the
armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honor and
dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as
unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and
yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always
rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing
all things” (2 Corinthians 6:6:3-10).
“Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Always
Abounding (in the work) ~ “Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor
is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
