~ How Should the Christian Rejoice
Regardless of Circumstances ~
“Fear not, O land; be glad
and rejoice, for the Lord has done marvelous things!” (Joel
2:21). This four-part series looks at the
Who, What, When, Where, and How of Biblical rejoicing.
How Should We Rejoice?
Rejoice With “Great Joy” ~ “When
they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in
the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child
was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they
saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures,
they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh” (Matthew
2:9-11).
Comment ~ There
is an old true saying which provides the sure-fire formula for JOY. It simply puts into perspective the proper
priorities for a follower of Jesus Christ:
Jesus first,
Others next, and
Yourself last!
important ~ Any Christian who remains conscious of all
that Christ has done for them at the Cross of Calvary and all they possess
because they are a child of God will maintain an on-going attitude of gratitude
regardless of their earthly situation.
