~ Who Is Rejoicing Regardless of
Circumstances? ~
“Fear not, O land; be glad
and rejoice, for the Lord has done marvelous things!” (Joel
2:21). This four-part series looks at the
Who, What, When, Where, and How of Biblical rejoicing.
Who is Rejoicing?
The Church Is Rejoicing
~ “So,
being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and
Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren” (Acts 15:3).
The Christians Are Rejoicing
~ “But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now
at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but
you lacked opportunity” (Philippians 4:10).
The Son Of God Is
Rejoicing ~ Jesus
tells of the parable of a lost sheep.
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does
not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost
until he finds it? And when he has found
it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his
friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice
with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more
joy in heaven over one sinner who
repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance” (Luke
15:4-7).
God The Father Is Rejoicing
~ “The Lord your God in your midst,
the Mighty
One, will save; He will rejoice over you
with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you
with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).
important ~ Any Christian who remains conscious of all
that Christ has done for them at the Cross of Calvary and all they possess
because they are a child of God will maintain an on-going attitude of gratitude
regardless of their earthly situation.
