~ The End of The World ~
Consider the World—its course and its
end…
The World Is The Empire of Satan
~ Jesus said, “The ruler of this world will be cast out” (John 12:31b). Jesus also
said, “The
ruler of this world is judged” (John 16:11b).
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the
world — our faith” (1 John 5:4).
The World Has Rejected
Christ ~ “He
(Jesus Christ – The Messiah) was in the world, and the world was made through
Him, and the world did not know Him. He
came to His own, and His own did not
receive Him” (John 1:10-11). Jesus said, “The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me
because I testify of it that its works are evil” (John 7:7).
Christ Came To Save The World ~ Jesus said, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have eternal
life. For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life. For God did not
send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through
Him might be saved” (John 3:14-17). Jesus also said, “If anyone hears My
words and does not believe, I do not
judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My
words, has that which judges him — the word that I have spoken will judge him
in the last day” (John 12:47-48). “This
is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into
the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:15).
All In The World
Are Guilty Before God ~ “Now we know that whatever the law says, it
says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all
the world may become guilty before God.
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His
sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:19-20).
The Judgment Upon The
World
~ Jesus said, “Now is the judgment of
this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out” (John 12:31b). “Truly, these times of
ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in
righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained.
He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead”
(Acts 17:30-31).
Jesus
said, “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on
the throne of His glory. All the nations
will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a
shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the
left. Then the King will say to those on
His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me
food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me
in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I
was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then
the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and
feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe
You? Or when did we see You sick, or in
prison, and come to You?’ And the King
will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
“Then
He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into
the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry
and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a
stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and
in prison and you did not visit Me.’
“Then
they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty
or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly,
I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did
not do it to Me’ And these will go away
into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Matthew
25:31-46).
The World—Its Doom ~
“The world is passing away, and the lust of
it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17). “Love has been perfected among us in this:
that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we
in this world” (1 John 4:17). “The heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same
word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly
men” (2 Peter 3:7).
Jesus
said, “So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, standing where it ought
not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the
mountains. Let him who is on the
housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his
house. And let him who is in the field
not go back to get his clothes. But woe
to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those
days! And pray that your flight may not
be in winter. For in those days there
will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation
which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. And unless the Lord had shortened those days,
no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened
the days.
“Then
if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do
not believe it. For false christs and
false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible,
even the elect. But take heed; see, I
have told you all things beforehand.
“But
in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon
will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens
will be shaken. Then they will see the
Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send His angels, and gather
together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the
farthest part of heaven.
“Now
learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become
tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see these things
happening, know that it is near — at
the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this
generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words
will by no means pass away.
“But
of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,
but only the Father. Take heed, watch
and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who
left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and
commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch
therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming — in the
evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning — lest,
coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.
And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” ( Mark 13:14-37).
