~ The Dead Will Rise For
Judgment ~
Consider the judgment of the dead at
the Second Coming of Christ…
The Judgment Throne
~ “Then
I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit
and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that
serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on
him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were
finished. But after these things he must
be released for a little while” (Revelation 20:1-3).
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your
throne; mercy and truth go before Your face” (Psalm 89:14).
The Seated Judge
~ Jesus
said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him
who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has
passed from death into life. Most
assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will
hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He
has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to
execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming
in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth — those who have done good, to
the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of
condemnation. I can of Myself do
nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My
judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the
Father who sent Me” (John 5:24-30).
“For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness” (Psalm 9:4).
“Of the increase of His government and peace there will be
no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and
establish it with judgment and justice from
that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah
9:7).
The Resurrected Culprits ~ Jesus
said, “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in
the graves will hear His voice and come forth — those who have done good, to
the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of
condemnation” (John 5:28-29).
“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God”
(Revelation 20:12a).
The Opened Books
~ “And I saw the dead,
small and great, standing before God, and
books were opened. And another book was
opened, which is the Book of Life. And
the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written
in the books” (Revelation 20:12).
“For
God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether
good or evil” (Ecclesiastes
12:14).
The Final Sentence
~ “And
anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
“But
the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with
fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).
