~ Those Who Only Profess
To Be Believers Will Also Be Judged ~
Consider the Great White Throne
judgment…
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing
before God, and books were
opened. And another book was opened,
which is the Book of Life. And the dead
were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the
books. The sea gave up the dead who were
in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to
his works. Then Death and Hades were
cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of
Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation
20:11-15).
The Throne Of Judgment
~ “Then
I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and
the heaven fled away. And there was
found no place for them” (Revelation 20:11).
“But the Lord
shall endure forever; He has prepared His
throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in
uprightness” (Psalm 9:7-8).
“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth;
walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these God
will bring you into judgment” (Ecclesiastes 11:9).
The Appointed Judge
~ “Then
I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and
the heaven fled away. And there was
found no place for them” (Revelation 20:11).
“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands
all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will
judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by
raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).
Jesus
said, “The Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor
the Father who sent Him” (John 5:22-23).
The Culprits
~ “And
I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book
of Life. And the dead were judged
according to their works, by the things which were written in the books” (Revelation 20:12).
Jesus
said, “For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have
life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because
He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at
this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His
voice and come forth — those who have done good, to the resurrection of life,
and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is
righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who
sent Me” (John 5:26-30).
“For
as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as
have sinned in the law will be judged by the law” (Romans 2:12).
The Opened Books
~ “The
sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead
who were in them. And they were judged,
each one according to his works” (Revelation 20:13).
“For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil” (Ecclesiastes
12:14).
Jesus
said, “But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom
in the day of judgment than for you” (Matthew 11:24).
The Final Sentence
~ “The
sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead
who were in them. And they were judged,
each one according to his works” (Revelation 20:13).
“Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed
speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do
evil” (Ecclesiastes 8:11).
“The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations
and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment” (2 Peter
2:9).
The Eternal Doom
~ “And
anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
Jesus said, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life
maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall
never be quenched — where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not
quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it
off. It is better for you to enter life
lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that
shall never be quenched — where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not
quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to
sin, pluck it out. It is better for you
to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be
cast into hell fire — where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not
quenched’” (Mark 9:43-48).
Jesus
said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not
believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16).
